Every day Dr. Brittany Barreto dedicates her work to advancing women’s health innovation by equipping key stakeholders with data-driven insights and strategic advice on the femhealth market. She received a doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine in Molecular and Human Genetics where she discovered a small RNA that regulates genomic mutation rate. She founded several businesses including Pheramor, the world's first DNA-based dating app, and is a US patent holder on predicting personality from DNA.

Additionally, she worked in venture capital and launched the Gulf Coast Branch for Capital Factory, the most active venture fund in Texas. Dr. Barreto noticed how underserved the women's health (femtech) industry was and set out to bring awareness, resources, and capital to it. She hosts the #1 femtech podcast, FemTech Focus, co-founded an early-stage femtech investment firm, Coyote Ventures, founded FemHealth Insights, a boutique consulting firm with a market research software tool specializing in women's health innovation, and authored Unlocking Women’s Health, FemTech and the Quest for Gender Equity

SPEAKING TOPICS

  • Women make 80% of healthcare decisions, yet their bodies were excluded from clinical research until 1993. Today, women are living longer than men — but spending more years in poor health. This isn’t just a medical oversight. It’s the largest untapped market opportunity in modern healthcare.

In this high-impact keynote, Dr. Brittany Barreto reveals how underfunding, data gaps, and systemic bias created a trillion-dollar innovation vacuum — and why it’s now the next frontier for entrepreneurs, investors, and enterprises. Audiences leave energized by the scale of the opportunity across biotech, digital health, AI, consumer products, and workplace solutions — and with clarity on how investing in women’s health strengthens outcomes for everyone.

Ideal for: Tech conferences, innovation summits, investors, healthcare leaders

  • Medicine was built largely on male biology — from drug trials to device calibration to diagnostic standards. The result? Misdiagnoses, ineffective treatments, and missed opportunity.

This keynote reframes women’s health not as a niche sector, but as the missing operating system of healthcare. Dr. Barreto explores how advances in big data, AI, hormonal science, and personalized medicine are reshaping prevention, diagnostics, and care. By designing for sex-based biological differences, innovators unlock more precise, profitable, and equitable solutions. The future of healthcare isn’t female-only — it’s sex-aware, data-driven, and better for everyone.

Ideal for: AI forums, biotech events, policy & innovation conferences

  • In 2016, the term “FemTech” was coined. Since then, a global movement has emerged — driven largely by female founders — to build products and platforms designed specifically for women’s health needs. Yet despite explosive innovation, funding gaps remain and major white spaces are still wide open.

Dr. Barreto takes audiences on a dynamic journey through the past, present, and future of women’s health innovation. She shares market data, breakthrough startups, global investment trends, and predictions for where the next wave of growth will emerge. This talk is both sobering and electrifying — highlighting systemic inequities while showing why women’s health represents one of the most compelling frontiers in healthcare innovation.

Ideal for: Global tech weeks, startup ecosystems, international forums

  • Less than 2% of healthcare venture capital has historically gone to women’s health — despite women driving the majority of healthcare consumption. This disconnect represents one of the most asymmetric investment opportunities of our time.

In this data-driven keynote, Dr. Barreto outlines funding trends, exit activity, high-growth verticals (menopause, fertility, hormonal health, AI diagnostics, workplace health), and emerging global markets. She explains why investors who understand sex-based biology, lifecycle care, and female consumer behavior are positioned to outperform. This session equips venture firms, family offices, and angel networks with a clear lens on where the next outsized returns may come from.

Ideal for: Venture forums, private equity events, women-in-finance groups

  • Menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, and menopause impact workforce productivity — yet most corporate systems were designed as if these realities don’t exist. The result is preventable turnover, burnout, and lost economic potential.

Dr. Barreto delivers a research-backed, action-oriented talk on how employers can modernize policies and benefits to support women across their biological life cycle. From menstrual disorders to menopause support to digital health tools, organizations that invest in female employee wellbeing see improved retention, morale, and performance. This talk reframes women’s health as a strategic business advantage — not just a benefits conversation.

Ideal for: Corporate HR events, leadership summits, DEI conferences
